Kerry Hilderman

In 1981, after graduating from the Northern Institute of Massage in Regina, Saskatchewan I began my practice Massage Therapy. The course was a 2-year program and I was fortunate enough to have trainers that had many years of experience in various osteopathic techniques. I started working at the YMCA in Regina where I practiced for 4 yrs. I then moved on and started my own private practice, which I ran for 6 years.

Through my own injuries and pain, I found out about Nucca, I drove to Calgary from Regina for regular treatments. I had such dramatic results in reduction of my pain that it caused me to look further into the modality.

In 1991, my wife and I decided to move to Calgary. Timing was right and I had the opportunity to start a new Practice in Massage working with Dr. Hasick in his clinic.

Over the years, my training continued. Through Upledger Institute, I added CranioSacral Therapy to my modalities as well as Somato Emotional Release and Visceral Manipulation. As well, a two year training in Integrated Body Psychotherapy. Other various Massage modalities - Onsen, TBM, Fascial work, Bodywork with PD Seminars. My most recent is the training in Active Release Therapy. Life has been an ever learning experience and has helped me to integrate all these into my work in Massage.

My work has served me and given me never ending growth. I am grateful to be able to share my experiences. My gratitude extends to my wife Lynne, daughters, Kaney, Lexi and Nikki and to my clients who have been an ever encouraging source of wisdom and strength.

Lynne Hilderman

In 1993, I graduated from Mount Royal College with my two year training in Massage Therapy. I started my practice with my partner, Kerry working with Dr. Hasick in the Britannia Clinic.

I continued my training with the addition of CranioSacral Therapy, Somato Emotional Release, and Visceral Manipulation. The biggest learning was that of receiving the gift of my children. Their birth's brought me to a new level of understanding. I trained in Integrated Body Psychotherapy and Mother Wellness during their babyhood. Most of my practice has been about surrendering and releasing and accepting the gifts that are all around me.

I am grateful to be back at my practice. I am looking forward to furthering my growth and understanding of who I am and what skills I have to offer those around me.

Marty Calhoun BSc., P.T.

Physical Therapist
CranioSacral Therapist

Marty began his journey of study into human health in 1987, when he attended Mount Saint Vincent University as one of the few males enrolled in their Nutrition program. After two years of study and additional Co-op work experience with Health and Welfare Canada during the summers, he was offered a one year position with the Sports Medicine Council of Canada in Ottawa. He decided to take the position and gained experience in applied nutrition for human function and performance. Now he realized that his true passion was studying the more physical aspects of the human body and he then enrolled in Kinesiology at Ottawa University. Studying there for the next two years led him further toward an interest in body pain and rehabilitation. He was accepted by Queen's University in the Rehabilitation Medicine program and there received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1996.

Currently, Marty is a licensed Physical Therapist and has been practicing in Calgary for the past 12 years. His experience has revealed to him the magnitude and complexity of "this thing we call health". Mind, body, emotion and spirit are vitally connected and require consideration and attention. The highly sensitive and enormously integrated human, needs to be addressed on many levels if the core issues behind pain and dysfunction are to be exposed and treated.

To this end Marty realized the importance of incorporating multiple treatment techniques and understanding in his work. While practicing Physical Therapy his study has been ongoing into a variety of methods and techniques such as CranialSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Myofascial Release, Energy Medicine, Zero Balancing, Neural Tissue Mobilization, Mackenzie Techniques and Osteopathy. His therapy approach "listens" to the body and assists in freeing tissue and holding patterns unique to each individual.

Rebecca Swan

I have always had an interest in healing. As a young girl I often dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. That was until I came to the realization that not only would I have to help healthy animals, but very sick ones as well. Needless to say I was off onto the next profession VERY quickly. Growing up I spent a lot of time repeatedly (almost habitually) injuring myself in various sporting circumstances. It seemed I was always in arenas, my father coached and I was always cheering on my older brother. This, combined with an avid interest in almost trying almost anything once. I was hooked on finding out how the body worked.

My first taste of rehab came in the form of Wilderness First-Aid at the tender age of nine... I had the bug even then. By the time I was fourteen years old, I knew the field I wanted to be was rehabilitation... now in the human form. At the age of sixteen I was in a work experience program with Calgary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre, which lead to a permanent position, and so my course was set.

I took my massage training at the Mount Royal College Centre for Complimentary Health. Most recently, I spent five years with Panther Sports Medicine performing Exercise Rehabilitation. This gave me a wonderful insight in how exercise propels and advances the healing process. I have a passion for lacrosse, and for three years now I have had the pleasure of providing my expertise to the Simon Fraser University Men's Field Lacrosse Program, along with the Calgary Master's Lacrosse League and the Tri-City John B's (based in Vancouver). My most recent personal interests traveling (ask me about Australia), hiking, climbing, disc golf (I recommend this to anyone and everyone - a must try!) and ultimate Frisbee (I must improve my skills before I make any recommendations to anyone!). This season I have decided to play Australian Rules Football - a contact sport that is a mix of soccer and rugby... wish me luck!
